On the 12th and 13th of August, this year’s field day was successfully arranged at Apelsvoll. Nearly 200 attendees from different agricultural backgrounds visited during the two days in order to get the latest updates from the different research projects running at the station. There was, as usual, big interest in the activities performed at the Center for Precision Agriculture. Kjersti Balke Hveem, the new leader of the center, presented our latest advancements in the precision fertilization technology, a novel vehicle-mounted crop mapping system and our upgraded UAV fleet. Following the presentation, participants were taken on a tour of the Teknobær facility, where Krzysztof Kusnierek and Kristian Rindal presented the latest news from peat-free strawberry production. Throughout the two days, care was taken to ensure that appropriate COVID-19 distancing and hygiene measures were followed. This was also the reason that this year’s field day was held over two days instead of one.
